He got away with going barefooted. The pavement wasn’t very hot when I checked it and he was struggling with having a “head halter” on instead of his pinch collar which is his emergency brake. We switched as he likes the pinch collar better and adding boots to the mix might be trigger stacking for him

Still not doing really well physically or mentally. Pretty foggy but that’s par for the course. I forced myself to process two of the five rabbits tonight. Hope I can do the other three tomorrow then we’ll just have the four and one litter babies. I don’t look forward to processing them because it’ll be in the heat and there’s nine of them and I have to do everything by myself. Oh well. I’ll be grinding these guys up for dogs because they’re done much later than I want them to be and I had a heckuva time trying to get the heads off. I just don’t think they’d be that tasty. But BOONE does!

I made rabbit sausage before. You have to add a source of fat, add spices and it’s pretty good. Or make rabbit lasagna! Rabbit chili! Rabbit tacos! It’s ground meat. How can it be tough?
I have lots of rabbit in the freezer and some canned. It was easier to not worry about them being super clean. It was a booger to get the hides off because they are much older than I usually process them 😉

Got a scratch board as it’s really hard to do Boone's nails. Fen figured it out quickly. Boone still doesn’t quite get it. Hoping for better day today. 3 more rabbits to harvest and prepare for the dogs. Then I’m down to 4 and ine big litter for summer. Too hot to breed and harvest then.

Not sure if it would work, or if you want to try it, but don't service dogs get free trims? Next time you're in town....

I’ve never heard of that before, but Idk if a stranger could hold into his foot either. He’s pretty powerful. I sneak over when he’s sleeping and try to cut one but he’s onto me

Other friends I know (face to face friends as well as online) with SDs have either groomers or vets that do this free. Yeah - I was wondering about a stranger trying to do that - but he's young and you could try and just say stop if you don't like anything. Worth a phone call to see if it's offered and go from there.
For my dogs that need it (thank God some don't ever seem to need it done) I've ended up using a dremel tool and for whatever reason that's usually tolerated more than the clippers.
