OMG... I can't believe I even asked that... I guess my brain had a lapse or something.. I KNEW there was a reason I was planning it the way I did... UGH! Thank you...
I'm sure they love that all that stuff but, I would check to make sure it will not hurt them !! AND .... If you will be drinking the milk you have too be careful what will
flavor the milk ...
I would inspect you goat pen carefully but, most goats can eat alot of all sorts of things but, better be safe then sorry ...
I will definitely look into good and bad things for goats to eat but was trying to see if anyone else could tell me their knowledge or experiences...
If you want milk ... ( you either have a buck or yah don't)
Plan A ( if you don't want a buck): Find a breeder who has a buck ... You can bring the doe to be bred or bring the buck to your place for a week or 2 to a month.
Plan B: (if you can keep a buck): Keep a buck in a (not the does pen) pen with a wether (or another buck) friend !!!
I definitely don't want a buck.. I do however have a friend that owns goats and I was thinking about breeding with one of his pygmy's if I absolutely could not find anyone around here with a ND buck... He has fainters too but I would think the kid size could be an issue for the doe... Am I correct in that assumption?
Also, much of what I've read says that you can use a buck rag if you are unsure if the doe is in heat and the heat can last anywhere between a few hours to 3 days.. So, couldn't I just have him bring the buck to me (or bring my doe to him) if I find she is "ready" and keep them together for a few hours or possibly overnight?
I would much prefer to alternate the does so they are kidding at different times to ensure I will not only have to worry about only one doe at a time but will also have a constant supply of milk...
