I have a two year old mini nubian doe who is about 2.5 months pregnant. She has been getting increasingly pushy with my other girls. Well, today I was out in the barn doing my goat chores and she rears up on her hind legs right in front of me. I look behind me thinking there is another doe back there but nope, it's just me. I walk up on her and push her back down on all fours and say loudly, "what in the heck are you doing?" She has pushed up against the back of my legs trying to get passed me thru the gate before but never a full on"I'm about to head butt the crap out of you" from her. At this time she was also running acting all crazy wiggling around, pawing at the other girls and pushing them away from the alfalfa pellets I just put out. Was she playing, pregnancy hormones making her crazy, or does she really want to kill me and take my place?

I seriously doubt she's trying to kill you, although I don't know you personally. :D

Certainly, hormones could be causing this new found attitude or she is vying for a new position in the herd. If she regards you as part of the herd, she doesn't hold you in the top or premium position based upon what you described. It can be difficult, but you must always present yourself as the one who is in total control and has the final word.

Give her some time. This could just be a fluke and not the start of a full blown power struggle.

She is already top go at. She is a mini nub where my other girls are ND. So she's bigger and bossier
She's never been really pushy with me just that one time she stood on her back legs and wanted to possibly crack my head like a coconut.
