We may have some separation anxiety. She was not happy when I left to go to work this afternoon. She screamed like a madwoman when I came in the front door tonight and tripped herself up in her frantic rush to get to me.

This does not bode well for the barn transition. Especially since it would seem that she forgot that she can nurse off the bucket whenever she’s hungry.

She is soooooo cute. That first pic ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Some drive through quick food places give out “dog cones” if you have a dog in the car. I used to have an Australian Shepherd that the crew at the Dairy Queen knew by name. I’d get my chocolate shake and then pull up a little so they could set Freckles ice cream in the back of the truck for her.

There is not a crew of fast food workers alive that would refuse that bundle of adorable an ice cream cone. Video it, send to Americas Funniest Videos and win $10,000!!!!

she hasn’t figured out that I don’t have to standing there in order for her to eat.

I have a heavy producing dairy goat who had a single this year. Unusual. But he will only nurse from one side! I have to milk 2x a day -- the other side. I mean, they are both together, side by side teats😵‍💫. This will really screw her up for a while when I wean him next month and use her just to milk. It's funny really, because he stands there looking at me milking like"whatcha doing?" Sometimes he'll go ahead and nurse "his" side then.

I get a gallon a day. Guess he does, too. Her sister is nursing trips....plenty of milk.

How to tell your house lamb *might* be ready to move out: she gets her diaper off during the night and poops on your pillow. 🤣 😬 🤢

I left her loose in the house when I left for work today (my sister was home) and it would appear that she managed to keep herself fed off the bucket. She was not hungry when I got home and has a fat little tummy.

We are going to attempt a barn transition tomorrow. She’s been going out with me to do chores and hangs out with the other lambs in the creep and hasn’t seemed too upset. She’s going to get her own pen to start off with as a lone lamb without a mom is likely to be picked on. She’s also still a bit stiff in her front legs from all her days of not walking. She’s much better and moves faster now, but she’s got a bit of a limp.

Wish me luck!

Poops on your pillow!! Hahahaha!! I busted out laughing, glad I didn’t spew my coffee!

What kind of diapers do you put on her? The only 2 bottle babies I ever raised, I cut a tail hole in human baby diapers. Didn’t work so great, took blue painters tape to hold them on. Just checking for future reference in case I have another bottle lamb someday.

Just a regular human baby diaper. She started in a size 3 and is now in a 4. I cut a tail hole. Make sure you don’t cut the hole too big. It doesn’t usually leak unless she pees in it a lot. Last night I double-diapered her to help it stay on. That worked really well. The 2nd diaper doesn’t have a tail hole.

My Border Leicesters all get docked. She hasn’t been done yet. I don’t like waiting this long to do it, but I didn’t do it earlier because she was so weak. That and I didn’t want a stinky rotting tail in my bed. 🤢 She’ll be done once I know she’s doing ok in the barn.

She made it all day in the barn, but I just couldn’t make her sleep out there by herself. It’s gotten chilly this evening and she was shivering so back inside she came. She’ll go back out tomorrow while I’m at work and then we’ll see how she is when I get home. It’s supposed to be really warm tomorrow night so she might be ok.

I might make her a sweater for later in the week when it gets colder again. I’d really like to avoid a heat lamp.
