Knitting her a wool sweater?:lol::lol: Can't wait to see those pix!

I’m going to start giving Bo-Se shots again. I haven’t been giving them since I moved to KY. Selenium is vital for reproductive health and I suspect that may be why I’ve had a lot of singles the last few years and why some of my ewes re-cycle so many times before settling.
We feed Imperial Valley alfalfa that supposedly has a good selenium content, I used to vaccinate before breeding my dairy goats with Bo-Se just to be safe. I have not done it with the sheep and am wondering if I should start due to the lambing problems I have had in the last several lambing cycles - singles and needing help pulling out kids. Granted, the kids have been larger, but the triplet wasn't that huge, and once I got his foot up he came right out. Low selenium levels in the ewe can result in poor positioning for birth and inefficient pushing. Maybe selenium would be a good idea. I wonder if I could have their selenium levels tested.

I feel certain you can have blood tested for selenium levels...they can test for most everything!

Maybe just do a few as representative of herd if it's costly.

I left her in the barn for the night. I’m not sure who is more upset. She was good all day, just hanging out, but remember, she’s used to me being gone all day. She got all excited to see me when I went to check on her when I got home.

Look at her little expectant face, waiting to come inside for bedtime. 😭

Princess Lizzie is still in the barn. We had a couple 80 degree days and then it got colder, but she’s been fine. No shivering at all. She still screams when she sees me, especially at night when she thinks I’ve come to bring her inside for the night.

I’m going to be pulling Garren, the little triplet, off his mom completely because he is not getting nearly enough milk. I finally got him to drink from the milk bucket, but he refuses to stay in the pen with Lizzie so he’s only getting a couple small extra meals a day. He is glued to his mom all day and is driving her nuts with his persistent attempts to nurse.
