No, Most horses are not "all like that"... I have had many over the years, @Baymule and others have/have had them. That is disgusting. My horse was never like that. I think you have a very good case... The barn was not cleaned out. Refuse to return the deposit... End of story. If they fight it, then I would pursue legal action. Any one around there with horses that you can "take pictures of a NORMAL horse barn" ????

Definitely not normal, not in any way. Looks like the horses were never let out of the stalls ever, and they never picked out, let alone cleaned the stalls.
Sorry you're stuck with having to deal with that. While a pressure washer may work, you'll end up with a mud mess on the floor. Almost looks like it needs to be scraped or sanded?? Maybe laying/nailing/whatever wet towels/moving pads over that will soften it up (ewwww) enough to scrape??
Keep taking pics - you're doing good keeping a record of it.
Geeze can't believe they're doctors !!

Discovered it's illegal to have a rat infestation in our county. Legally they were supposed to disclose it. Now it's my problem but they will probably have some fallout from that.

Conveniently I know how to starve and kill rats without poison for the most part and we have an army of kittens and mom is sending up my pair of grim reaper barn cats...I guess God gave us those random kittens for a reason. I plan to not have an infestation shortly assuming I can get that nasty rat food off the stalls walls. A grinder is a good idea.

Today I shoveled the dog poop stall and removed the pallets. I guess I'll take them to the machine shed with the other random junk there. The rat colony stall is the only one left and then I'll put up pics of clean stalls. I'm not going into the hay loft until there's a better ladder. Their nail job does not inspire my confidence.

Tonight I will either hunt for hay or get that rat colony pallets/hay stall taken down with DH.

I'm wearing an n95 mask. For the rat stall we will be gloved and shower immediately after.
She may get away with it because the contract was cookie cutter and just said the premises needed to be broom swept, as in the house. To further rain on my parade, I discovered she only moved 15 minutes away and still could not lift a finger to clean up her barn when we told her agent it was unacceptable the first time. She now owns a massive horse boarding, selling, and training facility so she can do this on a larger scale (including animal suffering) and I helped fund it.

This has taught me that you never make any concessions to your seller. Never. Even if you think it will not hurt you because somehow it will. If they want you to buy they will accommodate YOU. And if the sale falls through clearly they were not ready to sell.

And if we can't keep the deposit, I might leave her some Google and FB reviews with lots of pics that we took. I would be LIVID if my goat/horse was kept in the conditions I've been cleaning up. LIVID.

@rachels.haven I have an idea that may get karma sent her way AND help with concern for animals at her new facility. You WILL create an enemy doing this but I don't think you care?

Send a certified letter with pictures and her agent's reply that is "normal for a horse barn" to the animal control people of your area. State concern for welfare of animals at her new facility and request monitoring of it for animal welfare.

The stuck up doctors MAY try a slander lawsuit but that would be public information and I don't think anyone with a brain would decide in their favor.
