Shaving the vulva!!!?????

How many of you actually shave your does before they birth? I am trying to decide "wether" (wacka wacka) I should shave or go natural!!! LOL

We don't but we don't milk, we let the kids nurse for 6 to 8 weeks and then wean them.

I always do it makes clean up a breeze and i also milk and it does keep my milk cleaner.... How ever my girls dont care for it much.....

We don't shave ours, but we do trim their tails. It keep everything from looking really nasty after kidding.

I give them a "kidding clip" pre-kidding--I shave the udder, down the back of the legs, the tail, and the area between the hips and the tailhead so I can feel ligaments more easily. Clipping makes it easier to keep them clean after they kid and are bleeding/leaking goo. I've got a couple of super hairy udders too, so clipping those makes it easier for the kids to find the teats and for me to milk.

When the weather warms up, I keep my goats all show-clipped until winter again, because it keeps the does cleaner for milking, and it keeps everyone cooler in the hot weather and helps to prevent lice.

It's too cold to clip this time of year (that's my excuse as I'm too lazy). Everyone gets body clipped in June when it's nice and warm.
