Mike has legs!

I showered and cleaned up early one day last summer, then realized I hadn’t put the dogs up for the night. I had on shorts. Sentry and Sheba went on full guard dog warning, snarling, barking, hair raised on their backs. I didn’t say anything right off, observing their behavior. I know I sure wouldn’t want to be some idiot trying to break in!

We saw the Sun today for the first time in about two weeks but at least the temps have been nice still and the grass is growing fast enough that the sheep are ignoring the hay bales. They are covered and inside cattle panels so if they don't get used, they will be the first hay in the fall.

Teresa made Cajun Shrimp Scampi tonight that was about as good as it gets but the way we cook is one of the reasons that we rarely eat out. :)

I forgot to post the fecal test results but of the 8 fecal samples that we pulled, 5 of the ewes had zero eggs and 3 had either 1 or 2 eggs. Two of this group had been wormed shortly after they lambed but none of the others have been. All of our sheep get a Garlic Barrier drench every time we bring them in and we are finally seeing actual studies on the effectiveness of the garlic.

The winds are finally showing signs of slowing down. Yesterday, we had gusts a little over 40 mph but today we had gusts up to 70 mph. Nashville International Airport shut down for a good portion of the day since it wasn't even safe for aircraft to taxi plus trying to take-off or land in 70 mph crosswinds adds a whole new dimension to the pucker factor.
