We went to the oriental restaurant today that I mentioned earlier. They are doing a gangbuster business and have been since the first day. All of our neighbors have been there and love it and while we were there today, their phone was ringing nonstop.

Our little town is literally 5 blocks long and three blocks wide but the population includes most of the population in the county, which is very rural but it is the only game in town so it should do really well.

I made a pot of gumbo for dinner tonight. The okra I used was from 2022 which reminds me to say that if you are freezing food from the garden, a must have is a vacuum sealer. We had a porter house steak a few days ago that was put in the freezer in December of 2022 and it was about as good as it gets.

Vacuum sealed food stays fresh for a long time in the freezer.

We went over to Fayetteville this morning for a First Aid and CPR refresher since it had been many years since either of us had a class and fortunately, have had no reason to practice for real. We did stop and had a nice lunch.

Maisy and Mel are always waiting by the gate when it gets to be their feeding time. For the last week, Oshi has been waiting there with them since he has gotten used to me breaking some small branches with leaves off of the Bradford Pear tree there and of course the never ending animal crackers. It is really interesting watching his behavior since he has gotten to the point where he is either the all masterful ram or he is just a sheep wanting his back scratched. He will stand in front of me with legs spread and his head in a postion to get me if he is so inclined or more frequently, he will position his body so that his back is within reach for me to do my job. He is big enough that I will never trust him but it is funny watching how he is rethinking how he perceives his humans.

LOL - I know that look, my ram (LOL I call him Rammy even though someone else gave him a real name that I never remember) - he's trying to figure me out - like 'is she the b*tch today?' when he's thinking that he's got the soft eye -- and he may get a snack, or if he's not wondering and has the hard eye he sees either flapping gloves or a stock stick -- then he scrunches up his eyes like 'no, no'. It's so funny. But I'm always careful and ready.

We are going to bring Oshi and his harem in either tomorrow or Saturday to check weights. He has lost some weight and we want to pull another fecal to see where he is. I'm going to start giving a little feed to both of the groups to supplement their grass feed since what I'm cutting for them is like a late cutting. We have normally been giving hay in late October but I still have enough grass stockpiled for another month of cutting at a minimum. We have hay out there for them but they still prefer what I'm bringing in for them.

Rocky is doing fine here. I let Rocky and Little Ringo in the front yard to graze it. I managed to get the 10 squares of Saint Augustine grass to live through the summer and that is their favorite place to lay down and ruminate. I was talking to them one day and Rocky stomped his foot, so I stomped mine. They both ran. The Anatolians ran to the fence on the other side of the driveway and barked at the “danger” that scared “their” rams!
