Hi all!
we are taking in a bunny in May who has two splayed legs (back)
I’m not going to put her down because of it unless she suffers, so I’m looking for any advice you may have as far as housing, special care, and if splinting is worth it.
She’ll be 8 weeks when I get her, and she’s a New Zealand, Californian and Flemish Giant mix.
Thank you!

How bad is it, pics?
Why isn't the breeder trying to fix it or culling her?

This is her!
The breeder was planning to euthanize before I offered to take her, and she is planning on trying a few things to try to help her in the meantime

Virginia is for Pasture Farmers!
I saw someone tie the legs together on a kit years ago, but idk if it's too late for this rabbit now. Same how you do it for splayed legs in chicks. It could easily chew the wrap bracing off, which isn't good for it to be eating. Maybe if a head cone can also be used? But they eat special soft poops, so probably shouldn't be wearing it for weeks at a time...
I wish breeder would of tried to bind the legs when it was still in the nest.
Good luck

Thank you, supposedly this just showed up over the past few weeks, but honestly I’m not sure. I’ll try a few things and hopefully it’ll help her!
