It’s raining, miserable, muddy, poop soup, icky, yukky day. Not a dry spot on the farm. When I build a barn, I’ll have to haul in dirt and rock to build it up or I’ll be where I am now, water running through my pitiful attempts to provide shelter. Dogs would rather be out on the field, sheep are huddled in their shelters, ankle deep in mud. I’ve opened the gate for dogs to go out and they did. Another night and day of this.

Buford climbed over the hog panel from the small pen into the bigger ewe pen. Naturally this morning he was “herding” the ewes at a trot around the pen. I’m getting fed up with him. I raised the hog panel with another hog panel. Put Buford and Sheba in the small pen. It’s so wet and awful that even Sheba was looking for a way out. Before they found it, I let them out. There is a concrete floored dog kennel here. Guess where Buford is going tonight? Chase some sheep in that you a$$hat!

Believe me, I understand about muddy, poop soup! Nothing fun about it and I always feel bad for my critters when that happens. The only thing I have that you don't (yet) - is a couple of high dry barns. You'll love it when that happens!

Buford seems to be going through his terrible two's. Hopefully, he gets out of 'em quickly before you bring the wrath of Bay down on him!

He could be worse. No chewed off ears, no bite marks, no limping due to chewed up legs. I stay on top of him. I’m just extra disturbed today because I don’t have a proper barn and DRY ground for the sheep to even lay down on. The Barn Fairy needs to come wave her magic wand and make a dry warm barn appear.

I’ve been in and out today. Soaking wet, glad I haven’t put away the Carharts yet.
I put together the last closet shelf tower. I need to touch up paint a few places and I’ll be done. The first shelf is up high to accommodate the propane heater that will be put away soon. Then it will be in a clean, dry place until it is needed again.

I put a couple of 1x12 pieces in the corners for spacers and screwed the shelf to the wall. Now more room for more stuff. I have too much stuff. I’ve pared it down a LOT, don’t really have the time right now to open the box and go through each item, keep or get rid of. I’ve done some, but more to go.

Then I took my saw horses out of the utility room, carried paint supplies and other stuff to the storage building outside. Looks a lot better in there!

"Silly" Buford -- terrible twos in the puppy brain. Tell him that he has absolutely no, nada, zilch border collie genes in his jeans.
We all know he'll figure it out (with your help). He showed you just how good he will be when he's all growed up. 'Tis the problem with the talented young uns' --- they show you the end game, and then go into puppy mode. :)

I was doing evening feeding, put Senrty with ewes and lambs, put Buford and Sheba in with Cooper and ewes. Buford started crowding the ewes, walking them in circles around the Quonset hut, then whirling around to meet them coming around. Sigh…..

Son is taking me to our favorite Mexican restaurant in Crockett.

Good night Buford. See you in the morning.
