I found the property you and your sis (and even your son) can share! Can you imagine the lush grounds, the pond, the space inside for sheep containment for deworming, the other cavernous areas for supplies and hay? Its nearby to family on all sides, and the exercise area (lots of stairs) would be perfect for humans and dogs alike!

You would have to add more horse... looks like a great horse barn.

Good question. I was able to watch the news/weather last night and it seems to be stirring up hysteria by “possibility “ of turning into a storm, possibly heading into the Gulf of Mexico and possibly heading for Texas.

My weather nervous sister latched onto that dire possible scenario and told me as fact. It may take awhile for her to get unconcerned about every possible raindrop and truly realize that she now lives where rain and floods is not coming in to visit and stay awhile.

I got all the lambs worked and medicated this morning. Came in at 8:49 and got a shower. Got time to spare before church class at 9:30.

The little girls help was great. The ewes now know they get feed and treats in the chute and they line up bawling to be let in. It was easy to get the lamb stragglers in too.

I’m going to make a new list, can’t read the scrawl and some numbers are duplicates. New list tomorrow and I’ll know who I have. I’ll match up to ewes.

Best of all, no dead lambs this morning.

Tropical storm on the way. I left my car at church yesterday. Finally brought it home, so that called in the rain. Houston weather is saying up to a foot of rain, but for Trinity county it is supposed to be maybe 2” of rain. So let’s get this straight, somewhere between a couple inches to a foot of rain. I vote for the 2” of rain. Today is supposed to be clear, rain tomorrow.

I mowed the yard this morning, with tractor and bush hog. Then I mowed the driveway. Then I opened the gates for Carson’s yard, chopped some thistles and threw them over the fence, and mowed.

I was enjoying myself so much, I opened the gate to the back field and went after ragweed and bitterweed. I stopped at 12:30 to feed bottle lambs and drink lots of water. Back to mowing. Hogs have been in that field and are rooting it up. I guess I’m gonna have to sit out there one night, in the stock trailer so they can’t attack, and shoot a couple. It sure made the mowing rough.

I mowed until 3:00 and came in. I drank water and rested for an hour, was simmering some cooked chicken with rice for the dogs. Fed them, watered sheep, fed and hay the sheep. It started raining. I came in, got the bottles for the lambs and fed them. Came in, took a shower and fixed supper. It’s been a good day. Tractor therapy!

I find deer in my pastures -- no hogs! 😂. Actually, when mowing a couple days ago, I scared up tiny twins...looked just a couple days old. I went to another field to let them settle and saw mom with them that evening. Binoculars. 😁. They may have been born there as they looked too tiny to jump the fences. 🥴🤷

In Lindale, there were 2 does that would have their fawns in the horse pasture every spring. I think they went under the fence, I’d find dug out places.
