Got my first 12 hour fill on Willow! Only 12 days fresh. I'm pretty happy with her udder. Biggest thing I would change is teat placement, when her udder is really full it makes it hard to aim into the pail. And she could have better side attachments. But it's definitely an improvement on all of my past goats. I got about 5 cups which is about 2.5 lbs but she was holding back. She'll easily make over a half gallon a day her first freshening.

She looks good to me! But what do I know. My milking experience is limited to trying to get colostrum out of a wild ewe for the baby she rejected.
Thank you! I think she looks pretty good too. Although I'm still learning and the world of dairy goats is a very complicated place.

I've tried milking a semi wild ewe, so I know what a rodeo that is. 😅

I did my first disbudding this week! I was dreading it a little but thankfully a kind couple came and showed me how to do it. They were very thorough and helped me be successful. It was not too difficult, mainly just nerve-wracking because you're having to put a 1000 degree iron on a tiny baby goat's head. I'm so glad I could learn hands on instead of just watching videos!! And now I don't have to pay the vets to do a lousy job with CALF disbudding irons. 🤦🏻‍♀️
The baby I did by myself is doing great! (Much to my relief)
