Had a quick breakfast - yesterday's desert - roasted strawberry quick bread (wasn't as good as it sounds) - then donned a down jacket and out with the sheep. 31 out then -- frizz brrr. Got back to the barn just a few minutes before The Hay Guy. The new hay looks scrumptious if I do say so myself. It's nice and green and soft and it's this year's hay. I may break open a bale tomorrow just to see more. I've still got 3 bales from the last load.
On to more stuff -- but first I'll get dinner started - sausage ragu - great for a cold day only getting to 57 (yeah I know only and you all are laughing at my weather wimpness!

Checked on sheep in newly fenced pasture and one ewe was out. She apparently had a little divine inspiration and came when I called and we hiked up the driveway and back to the flock. Leo helped when she balked. I have had a big set back with Leo. He has become lamb aggressive which is odd because last summer he was ok. I’m working with him and I hope he’ll come around. I haven’t had a driving/herding dog but lm assuming they backslide like other breeds in other training situations. The hens are mating so eggs on the way. Thunderstorms tonight and possibly our last freezing temps tomorrow.

Yeah - they do. Sometimes they 'freelance' -- but that's more in rote situations where they really do know better than us. Though lamb aggression is not in that category. Typically it's usually the stop or a flank that a short reminder is needed. I haven't had one yet (knock on wood) that has backslid that way. With my lambs Obi will shoulder them
if needed to get them where they need to be or to stop an escape.
🤞 Good luck.

Coffee!! And more after this one😁😂

Slept well but a long, long day made me do it. Animals will forgive the 9 pm feed time but, I hate those. Wont be that way today -- start early, leave early. Less stores. Some days it's tough to earn a paycheck or "haycheck" ??

The weather looks good today but rain most all day tomorrow. Not thrilled with that but, way better than ice and snow 👍 plan accordingly? May move jobs around...home today, work tomorrow. 😁:idunno

Better go get a refill -- think this through...🤔🙃

Coffin is ready. It rained last night. Just what I needed, more rain. Got my hair cut appointment this morning. I sure need it!

Haycheck! 😂😂😂 that’s a funny one!
Coffin may be ready for me too. I slept through my 2 alarms and 3 calls from Scam Likely who was apparently concerned. When it’s up and down with bottle lambs and barking dogs 9:30a is the new 6:30. :th
