Just had a cup. Slept late. Will feed before it gets wet. Then ?? Work inside house or stores? There's laundry, there's jobs....decisions!

Lol...that's always bad -- pay a lot to be miserable. Sorry.

Actually cold this morning. 34 out. Was 66 yesterday at get up. Well, one day and back to 60s and 70s. It's Feb, wonder if summer will be this much hotter. . Sunshine is nice. Warming. No real plans for today -- nice.

Tomorrow I drive a couple hrs to pick up chicks. Cream legbars. Late next month, picking up Bresse chicks. This is year I need to add youngsters to the flock, so trying some different breeds. Have a lot of old ladies laying less. Looking to build sales basis. Not thrilled with adding chick chores but, prices and finding adults not working. No broody hens yet. Probably soon....more chicks in spring but hen raised, even if I buy fertile eggs.

Need to get out and do morning chores. I don't feel a rush just sorta lazy. So, refill the cup!

On first cup of coffee. Woke up at 1, 2, 5, got up at 6:50. It’s 30F and frosty white. Not chomping at the bit to go outside. I can see Dessa and I don’t see a lamb. Hussy.

@Mini Horses didn’t you used to have an egg route?

Yes, before pandemic, sold a lot of eggs. Most to groups at work locations. During the work slowdowns, I provided free eggs to most customers. They had less $$ and I had eggs coming -- my hens didn't stop working and were already at home

It's frosty and white here too. My excuse to delay morning outside chores is my stairs are slippery with the frost. I have so many projects though... One more cup of coffee then to work!

Went out, fed. Counting noses...found an "extra" a little brown dapple doeling. Crying...looking for mom. Rustled up a doe, also talking -- but, not wanting to take claim. . Black, so no blood shows...hair stiff on leg, stuff stuck to but, tight teats -- yeah, it's yours!! Take both into pen. Milked with NO co-operation. Bottled babe. Left them to think it over.

Looking back, this doe preemied last yr, so on second chance. Last chance if it's my bottle babe! Hoping for an attitude adjustment -- she's got the weekend to fess up and take over. Otherwise she'll learn to stand nice 2x a day, until next sale date. At least it's a doeling. that's 3 single girls in a row.

Ahhh - poor little orphan! Hope she doesn't end up as a bottle baby, but if so at least she'll love you bunches, lol.

I'm waiting on one to deliver today. Guess I should actually wwalk out and check on her.

Congrats on the doeling rescue. I hope mom figures things out. Bottle babies, heck lambing took it out of me this time. My good knee isn’t anymore. Not as bad as the other and rest should fix it. Weight loss wouldn’t hurt either. Hubbs is a three meal a day, load up that plate guy. The metabolism fairy that smote me with the ability to suck calories out of the floor as I walk across it gifted him with a fast thyroid, presto he can eat whatever and as much as he wants. Ahoy the good ship Intermittent Fasting is about to set sail.

Back in after grazing and finishing cup 2.
I got some honey from a friend yesterday - she got it from her worker who has bees.
The honey is not clear, and seems crystalized. According to the guy she got it from he
"leaves the pollen in" and that's why it is the way it is. I've never heard of that. Anyone
know about honey?? A friend of a friend says she doesn't trust the worker. I've got know
idea if she's been sold a bill of goods, or has come into good goods.
