Sheep have shelter from the rain, but water runs in the shelters and/or the ground gets so saturated that it’s just wet slop.
It is to bad that you had all those tree trunks removed. You could have used them to make a raised foundation for the sheep shelters, filled that with dirt and sand, and maybe it would have been high enough to avoid flooding.

A semi-permanent solution would be to put in french drains but it is a lot of work and would still require you to raise the shelters. Dig a trench around the sheep shelters and put in perforated pipes, cover with rock, and hopefully the rain will drain away from the shelters. Adding a deep french drain pit (abut 2-3' diameter x 4' deep filled with rock) at one corner and sloping the perforated pipes to drain to it will work even better. But again it is a lot of work and there is cost involved. It might work better to use the tractor to slope your night pen and put the shelters on the top of the slope.

Ahhh yes. Happy Easter.

Coffee. Maybe sausage & eggs in a short while.🤔

Things are WET but, no more coming from sky at the moment. 👍. Front is supposed to blow on out this morning. Welcome to sun, just appearing. 🥰 I watched the goats circle the new fence, then settle for some graze/browse...not a real heavy grass load now but plenty rooted and growing. This water, sun, warmth will have it doing great. My hay bill needs a break!! Next week I'll have another area for them to rotate between. All these kids are growing and eating big time now. Need my weaning pen ready. Mostly done, just fine tune.

Went to auction...took nothing, bought nothing. Didn't even stay for much of it. LOTS of poultry there. Prob 60-75 dz eggs -- chicken, duck, goose, quail. Incubator time. Maybe 20 bottle goats. One I liked but, buckling. And good amount of livestock. It was a cold rain happening -- I wasn't in the mood. 🤣 Left.

Time to refill the cup. :frow

Oh my....no breakfast. Still sunny and 54* but a steady 20mph NE wind makes it too much fun out there. I did remove some of the last 50' section I will replace with new -- not today 😵‍💫. Then that entire field will have new goat fence.😁 And it's own big 12x30 shed still good, dry. Now they can clear the alley for me...16x130 along this area. Nice! Needs doing and they love the work😂🤣😋

I'm thinking I'm pretty finished until night chores. I can have lunch now.

Good Morning All. I hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend.
My sister & her husband put in a concrete patio between the house & garage over the winter so we met at her house to christen the new cookout area. It was probably the BEST get-together we've had since Mom passed. Just simple burgers and 'fixins' , but for the first time in a LONG time no-one was watching the clock with that 'can I go yet?' look and everyone behaved - just chatted & laughed & enjoyed the warm sun and the birds

I sat around & watched old movies on TV most of the day, yesterday. Had heavy winds, cold and wet out. But it was a nice rest. Having brownies with my morning coffee, compliments of using oven yesterday.🤣

A slow start is ok today, compliments of new fence allowing goats on that ground securely. 👍 They've accepted missing escape route, eating at home on own field.

There's fresh coffee, have some with me. This is the last of my 10 days at home. Plan to get a few hours of tractor time. It's a chilly 38 out there right now, so after lunch. 😁 I'm a fair weather farmer today.
