Coffee #2 on the way... it's amazing how slow those keruig things are when you're desperate

Yesterday afternoon I tossed a little load of socks and undies into the washer. It's been making terrible noises and I've been just waiting for it to keel over. While I did other chores I kept half an ear out for it's usual groaning and banging but it seemed to be doing ok. I was starting to think that maybe I could get another few months out of it if I only did little loads when I heard a horrible buzzing. Apparently it has some sort of alarm????? Whatever it was, it had stopped full of soapy water. I fiddled with it for about half an hour and then gave up & called Dad to ask if I could bring down a little load for a rinse & spin. After I wrung out the clothes to carry down to Dad's, I just slammed the lid on it and told it that it could just sit there and think about it's bad behavior.
Tonight I'll have to get the water out and maybe see if anyone can help me haul a new one home this weekend.
I would try to figure out what is wrong and attempt a fix, but it was a free to me 2nd hand (or maybe 3rd hand?) 5 or more years ago. I figure that I can probably replace it with a budget new one for less than the parts, aggravation & near future repairs will be.

Washer woes. 🤬 A new washer on the way soon. 👍. They aren’t made to last forever. Heck, these days they aren’t even made to be repaired. So much electronics on washing machines, it costs too much to fix the darn things. I’d better shot up. My set is 8 years old………

Got to go get feed today. Only sunny day this week.

Can't believe -- I woke to frost! Sure it was on news and weather but, I was outside on tractor and to bed early. 🙄😵‍💫 Wasn't paying attention. So I have both flannel lined jeans and shorts in laundry stack. it's 85 to 30 in a week 🤣 80 again by tomorrow.

That could be the most news to digest -- alas, more shootings in news. 😟 Bad. They just charged mother of 6 yr old who shot teacher, locally near me, with endangerment, loaded gun unsecured, etc, with more technical terms than this. It's ongoing.

I'm having morning coffee and breakfast. Quick look at news while I ate. Turned that off. I have closer to home issues 🤔 goats to milk & feed, noses to count, chickens and cats waiting on me! The things in my life that keep me moving along with a purpose. :old immediate needs first, world problems later.

Sunshine here😁. Enjoy your day. I'll hug my goats.🥰

Washer Woes - did yall know that it's nearly impossible to just go to a store and pickup a washer anymore?????? I assume it's the same for any large appliance. I spend almost 2 hours this AM (shhhhhh don't tell my boss!) researching all the places near me that I could access online. Almost ALL of them, you had to place an order for delivery. Most of them had no option to pickup regardless of how long you wanted to wait. I lucked out that one of the big box stores still keeps some handy.

My barn clean up friend is going with me (her pickup truck) to get it tonight .... and we'll probably grab some icecream on the way back 😂
My laundry room will be back in working order before I even need to do another load. Maybe I'll strip the bed and wash the sheets just to have a load to do tonight

Woohoo.....found a washer! Crazy they don't have one or two in stock. 😵‍💫. I mean washer or frig is a right now item. :idunno

I was planning to go to my job today...didn't happen.😁. Nope. I decided I HAD to work a section of fence to move some goats to more forage. So I did!! In fact, a few repairs, two fields fixed, some tractor time to cut and saving expensive hay for 30 adults and at least 12 kids. That's saving more than I'd make working 🤣. Now there's at least 4 days of forage before I move them to the 3rd set of fields. 👍

They are loving it!! So is my wallet.. I walked those fields yesterday...there's some things a horse wouldn't touch but goats??? Like candy. Decision made. The new honeysuckle vines starting will be gone in no time.....fine, more in next set of fields for ya. 🤩 Some trees to trim up, too. Happy goats!

Feed is now $14 per bag. It’s a 14% all purpose pellet, been buying this for years. Horses always did well on it. In Lindale, I fed it to horses, sheep, feeder pigs, even the chickens! I’ll probably put the horse in this feed as it gets hot. The feed she is on now is real high fat and on hot days, she sweats, and as it gets hotter, she will be miserable. Not having that. Plus, she has gained a lot of weight. The high fat feed is $25 a bag, $14 sounds a whole lot better. She eats a bag every 8 days. I got to take her 4 month pictures! It was raining on the 7th. This is first sunny pretty day we’ve had. Pictures on her thread tonight!

On cup two - let the sheep out and checked the drip irrigation in the gardens. Need to run down the hill and teach the detection students and stop at the grocery store and TSC on the way back up.
Did get one sheep shorn yesterday. My first time on the shearer -- not too bad, a learning experience esp in adjusting the tool and changing blades. The ewe is sorta cute in a goofy way -- I'm far far from the pros - may have another blow by blow with her -- after I get two more done. Ya' know - I actually enjoyed it. :) :)
