I've served several times, from college on. Both as a juror and an alternate. Yes, they usually pay a per diem. Check on that.

@murphysranch Johnson County Texas pays a whopping $8/day. I don't think the rate has changed since it was started.

This has been a full day.
. Removed 15 t-posts and reasonably new fence -- 6 mos-- to use elsewhere. It was set up this summer for a quarantine area...this was 2 sides, at a corner of a field. I laid it out, straightened any needed spots, rolled up and moved to new location to get put up, along with some more left from another roll. And, pulled up 4 more posts, a gate, maybe 15-20' of different fence. It's 2x4 no climb that I'll use to cover a couple pole gates to prevent kids escaping.
. I'll only buy ones already covered any "next" needed.
Tomorrow back to a job so upping these posts & fence will be a couple days off.
. I've accomplished a good bit while home the past 10 days. Feels good to do and get done. Still a list tho

I think Texas pays $7 per day. You get a paper to fill out. You get a choice of having that massive check mailed to you or donate back to the county.

Coffee is ready. It’s 52F outside and 66F inside. It will go to 76F today. I just wrap up in an afgan on chilly mornings, by late afternoon the AC will come on. LOL Going to finish the chicken tractor today. All I’ve got left is putting tin on the end gate and a latch to keep it closed. Then I can unload some of these dirty birdies off the porch.

Ah - rain again. Cancelled lessons. I think the sheep have a hot line to the weather - especially the wether. 47 to 52 today and clouds (obviously).

@SageHill : I was reading an article from CBS news about Tulare and how the extinct lake has returned. And flooding - oh my gosh! And how warm its going to be in the Sierra's this weekend. Ouch ouch ouch.

Even though they only pay after the first day of jury service, I think they do give you a scri for free parking and some courts have special jury duty parking.
