😡 went to DMV and got new tags for my car -- that's been sitting for a couple years. I'd start and drive it on my road a couple miles every month or so. Truck must think I want to rebuild it! Working at it. At least I'm mobile "whenever, wherever" again. Back to keeping two vehicles alive  waiting on more parts -- damn these sensors everywhere!

Ah just looked up Gem. Its a licensed fruit. Can be stored for several months before ripening by ethylene. I'd say that its a hedge against the winter diluge of Mexi Hass.
The Haas can take a long time to ripen. Avos are picked long before they are ready to eat. For many that I pick they are weeks before they're ready - and that's when they pick easy off the tree. Kinda hard to plan eating them

Coffee is ready, going for my second cup. I meet a lady in Rusk this afternoon to deliver her chicken. If I had my truck, I’d get feed, but truck won’t be ready until tomorrow morning. Other chicken customer is coming to the farm Friday afternoon. They are from Lindale and we’re friends also, so I’m excited for them to see the farm.

As desperate as I am to stay home today, I need to go to work! 😖. Several days of sick vehicles, when least expected, has put me in a bind. So, I'll move jobs to spread out some with farm needs. :idunno

We had unplanned sprinkles at daybreak....not enough to more than dampened the surface of the 6-7 acres of hay to be rowed and baled later, across the street. They had baled and gotten about 20 acres off fields yesterday. Good weather until Monday, so I expect the last 10 or so acres to be cut/baled by Sunday. Fun to watch. Hopefully rains mon- wed. We need it.

So breakfast & coffee time over. Need to head out and see what "surprises" await me this morning.
