I'm certain, with the extreme heat there, baking cookies in a car works! Free solar oven!!

I'm happy with our cooler than norm -- won't last long!! But I'm generally close to or at 90 mid June. July mostly same, Aug gets hotter/dryer, then Sep back to mid/low 80s. It's hot but not for the extended time you guys get!!!!

Texas is famous for heat. Coffee is ready! Last night, heavy storms were predicted for my area, this morning it’s more like a light rain and not much of that. So being it is what it is, we’ll either get nothing or a cloud busting frog floater.

Yesterday I strung up a couple of tarps in the ewe pen, both sides are silver. Instant heat relief! I’m going to put up one in Coopers pen. Then it will storm like crazy and rip them to shreds……..LOL

I used to have a coffee mug that plugged into the lighter socket. Warmed up the coffee. Now, a mug that keeps hot or cold long time, no plug in. Doesn't help but so long, several hours.

Worked most of day, home having hot tea while heating milk to make another batch of cheese. Fresh cream for my tea. 🥰 A small pleasure of my home dairy....and the cheese! Big savings on that. It's almost a daily "must do" when milking several a day. Frig gets toooo full otherwise.

I'll need to get out for chores between bands of rain. NOT complaining, I'm sure glad for this rain!! Goats, not so much! 🤣 They're not too water friendly.
They make little 'coasters' for your coffee cup that plugs into one of the computer ports and heats up to keep your coffee warm....

We have fog, overcast behind that  and more scattered rains for today & tomorrow. That's ok! Knowing how deeply the ground is dry, these rains are needed!!!! Yes, I like sunshine & blue skies but water is needed. Rain on.

This morning news had devastating news! A tornado wiped out a small town in TX -- a state where there are more record breaking heat areas. 118* is like Death Valley! 😱. Plus, the submersible with 5 people onboard still missing😢 to view Titanic wreckage.

Fresh pot of coffee is ready. It's best part of my day so far.👍

Same here but not the rain part. Weather is strange - abnormally cool -- 53-70 today - it just can't make up it's mind.
I keep telling myself it all averages out - (except Texas :hide ). Take that global warming - next it will be global cooling (or wasn't that a thing years ago?!)

Homesteading podcasts.
Do you have a favorite?
I've been a rabid audiobook listener for a LONG time. But I'm starting to have to search my favorite app longer and longer to find any books that I want to listen to. I was thinking that instead of getting lost in fiction, I might try listening to podcasts.
