Going to triple digits this week—and I’m roofing!
We have pulled off the roof on 2 different houses to reroof. Did it in August. Never rains in August in Southern California. EXCEPT freak storm swept from Mexico - thunder , lightning, flooding. IN THE HOUSE! Two different houses, two different monsoons. We are afraid to reroof anymore!

News said a 14 year old boy died hiking in Big Bend Park in west Texas. it was 119F degrees. His stepfather was killed in a car wreck, going to get help.

What a tragedy. What stupidity. Hiking in 119 degrees? In Big Bend? That’s sheer stupidity. Tragedy for the family.

It’s 98F here, heat index of 106.
I’m crazy but I ain’t stupid.

My first husband was a biker - no, not the typical one. Rode a BMW and we took all our vacations on that bike.

Anywho, we were pulling into Tucson AZ and I was dizzy and weepy with tears. Got a cheap motel (we had only been camping), and found I had heat exhaustion. My Lord, it was terrible. Couldn't keep down water, freezing in the shower with tepid water, slept for hours under a window AC, and then was shaky and miserable the next day.

That poor 14 yr old died from heat stroke, which is frequently lethal. They were from Florida, the article said. One would think that Floridians would know about heat. Such a shame and tragedy for everyone.

Good Morning all!
Coffee is hot and ready this AM for all the early birds like me.
I was just reading the previous post and got chills about the 14 Yr old. My heart sinks for that family so I'm sending thoughts of condolences and prayers of comfort to them.
FH decided (I think from help from other people) that the bosses wedding venue was too far (it's in Wakefield-hour away) so we're just going to do it up the street at a friends house in their backyard (once tents are put up, tables and chairs set it will probably hold 40 guests but that's not counting the caterers set up), also decided that a DJ ($400) was too expensive but going with the caterer ($1500-2000) and he's going to pay for his sisters way down and back. I'm so frustrated :barnie:he:duc:tongue and stressed :rant:smack:idunno:thright now and we have a little less than a year before the actual day.

Overcast, wet. We got not quite an inch of rain -- the severe t-storms missed me. Lot of them north or south but, the systems stayed split instead of meeting up here.👍 Where the storms did go, several reports of trees down, power outages. They say we're now 3" over norm vice 3" under for months rains. Yeah, pastures, crops are happy around here. Better than the iffy reports just 3 weeks ago.😉. Love the fresh, clean smell after rains.

Wetness does limit some outside work.😟 Guess I'll work jobs, already been lax at home a few days - need to get a move on. Tired of sit and wait time.

Getting a light rain now...might last 1/2 hr. 🤷

At job most of day but got a pot of milk into cheese before I left this morning. Making Cajeta now :drool . I'd love to make a 2nd batch but, slow process. Basically simmering milk to 40% of volume -- so, more may need to wait for tomorrow -- depends when I'm feeling sleepy. 🤣

Probably need to have something for supper 🤔 hmmm
