Pretty simple, figure out what you need for power, most places around 10kW for a house then you would size your battery for how much power you would need based on 4 days without solar and how much power you use a day. Now remember a battery amp hours is only good up to 50% before you hurt the battery from draining too much from it, 80% SOC (state of charge) is best number to aim for to not go below with FLA (flooded lead acid) and anything below 68°F your battery capacity drops 1%. Batteries come in nominal voltages 2, 6, 8, and 12 when in reality if a battery says 12VDC on your meter you are below 50% SOC, if you are up to 12.7VDC then it's full.

What does this have to do with anything does in here, look at everything that requires a battery and when it's freezing you know now why it won't crank that tractor besides the molasses for oil, take the battery inside warm it up and then bring it out to crank on it.
Now where was I....

I got enough battery here that weighs more than most peoples vehicles. Lets see if I can find a picture of one of them. Yes 3780 lbs for one battery that consists of (18) 2VDC cells. Got a second one slightly smaller at (24) 2VDC cells also.

Here we will send this thread down a rabbit hole, multiply by two and this is my stats on this system.

Thankful for the convenience of my electric meter! 🙄 🤣

Some light rain overnight -- still hanging around. The gloom is here. They say it'll clear and reappear late day 😞. I told them I didn't want this, mother nature just gave to me anyway. 🤷 Inside day! It's chilly, not bad but, chilly.

Now I wish I had thawed a chicken to bake.🫤 Well, soon I'll turn on every light in the house to get rid of gloomy & get motivated! Coffee alone won't work today. Maybe I'll can some of these sweet potatoes.🙃🤔 Needs to be done. A real ho-hum day.

@Baymule has water on road gone down enough to get through? Sure hope so 🤞🤞

Yeah, I went to the paved road Thursday morning on the Kawasaki mule, checking for potholes. I went out in car that afternoon. Left yesterday to visit a friend. Still water in some places, but shallow. No biggie.
