I’m sorry he didn’t make it. Every animal we have contributes to our knowledge. Thank you for sharing.
I will never forget that day. I had to leave for a road trip with friends and checked jn the barn one last time and he decided to wear the ladder as a necklace while trying to get away from me. I was like omg this is what my life is like now lol.I’m so sorry you lost him. It sure wasn’t for lack of love and trying everything possible.
Shearing him was a great idea, you can make something from his wool and keep him forever. Glad it eased the sorrow.
Love the ladder picture, it made me smile.
Thank you. One of the vets I consulted had fourteen llamas that reduced to four due to dying so take this with a grain of salt… he give medicine to them in a slice of bread and they will eat it whether it’s a pill or de wormer. Stephen wouldn’t have done that but maybe the next one.Although it was not a good outcome, at least you gained some knowledge from the ordeal.
Most llama's we have had do not like to be handled very much. Unless raised from birth with alot of people interaction, they tend to like their "space" and to not be confined or controlled by a halter or anything.
Hope you can make something that will celebrate his time at your farm.
Oh this is such a great idea!!! Thank you for that suggestion!I'm really sorry. You did everything you could to save him.
Do you have plans for his wool?
A felted Llama wound be sweet.
Yes. So sad but also a tired relief that there’s no more pain for him and I can finally rest.I know the sadness of losing the battle. to you.
