We brought all of the ewes and their lambs in to do the usual checks. Our #83 ewe had what we thought was a single the other day but when she came in today she had twins on her. One of the lambs must have been asleep in the field when we saw her with the one lamb.

We have taken several looks at this lambing seasons lambs and we have a hard bunch of choices if we want to keep our numbers pretty close to where they are now. This bunch of lambs does nothing that will make you quit smiling. They have the composition, fast gain and attitude that makes them easy to handle even though they are so young. It may or not be right but we like ewes in the 110 lb plus range and we have a couple of registered ewes that don't get near there and they are going to go. We have 44 lambs so far so there will be some thining.

Our heavy weight ewe today was 194 lbs.

The bottle lamb is thriving and doing all of those cute things that lambs do. We have been putting him with the others when we are down working hay or about anything else. We have been calling him Shadow instead of Reggie.
