We have a couple of things that need to be checked out by a vet so we have her coming out tomorrow around 9:00. We have a ram lamb that needs a health check for traveling and while she is here, Oshi has a spot on his back that we want to have checked out. The way we are set up, we have to bring the whole group in to be able to run them through the chute to get to the animals that need working on. We use netting outside the chute to get them back into the paddock since that isn't inside the fence. We will run them in early so we can get most of them in and out before the vet gets here so we don't waste her time. We have one ewe that needs worming so that fits in also. Oshi slows things down a little since he is always the last one in (that works for this time) and he hasn't completely accepted being dominated. :) He has been amazingly calm in the chute but I still don't trust that big boy. :)

The vet was right on time this morning and we had brought the whole bunch in so we could sort them out and only have the sheep that needed to be worked on in the chute. We had one ewe that needed worming so we got her done as we sent them through. When the vet got here, we had the young ram and Oshi in the holding pen and ready to push into the holding gate. She checked over the young one and when we let Oshi in, she just stood there for a bit and said that she had no idea they got that big. :)

On a side note, Wendy's ewe lamb and the ram lamb that I am working on getting tame are actually quite impressive. Their confirmation is about as much as you could ask for and they now have me looking forward to the lambs that are due any day now.

One of these days you will send some Katahdins to the National Show!

That isn't in the plan. We just want happy sheep that are as healthy as they can be.

We have lambs due any day now so Teresa is bailing out and heading to Missouri tomorrow morning, :) Obviously she isn't bailing out since I usually handle the lambing anyway. Her siblings are all in their 80's so it is definitely best to visit whenever you get the chance.

Hopefully she can gt her visit in before any lambs arrive. Always nice to have a secnd pair of hands on call if needed.

She is having a good visit and even cousins are getting involved. There isn't much I can't handle and this group of ewes are our oldest ewes that trust me completely and that always makes it easier. We have friends just minutes away if something comes up that I need help with.
