I'm being a grumpy goat this AM (no offense intended goat folks). Several of the trucks delivering to my scale have discovered "MY" shortcut to work - which is a narrow, 2-lane road with no shoulders & deep ditches. Yes.. it IS shorter... but if you're so scared to be on it that you drive 25-30mph the whole 24miles .. your can't possibly be really saving time... I'm miffed because I've got to start getting out of my house 20mins early to compensate for tooling along at horse&buggy speeds behind them.
Coffee brewing ... I'll be happier in a few mins

Only store I'm working today is just 7 miles away 😁 and not going in until noon. Yeah, taking a friend to a 10am apptmt, so 🤷 in to work later than normal.
But gives me a relaxed morning for chores. 👍

Will get a tank of gas and pick up a couple things at TSC while she's at apptmt. All works out ok.

So here we are...last day of Feb. I feel more like spring will happen once I can say it's March 😀 just mentally a boost. It's my prelude to spring.:clap

For the moment, I'm here :caf hoping weatherman is right about 70 and sunshine today :yesss:

Sun and ridiculously warm temps for Feb.... even if it is the last day, we have had a roller coaster ride of temps and weather with TOO MANY days of too warm. I am afraid it will bite us in the butt with cold wet weather in March and especially April when we should be getting this "SPRING" weather.
Oh well, you can't tell mother nature what to do.....
Nice to see sun after the cold 40's with the rains we have been getting .

Morning all. Sophie decided to wake me up at 4:30 but it was a nice morning so while she was busy I got to look at the stars and the west Texas dust streaking across the sky. For all the troubles it can be a wondrous world.

So I’m waiting for American home shield assistance and there’s a snappy jazz tune they play. I’m imagining it’s about a young couple living in a brownstone in the 1970’s. The relationship is a little bumpy because she can’t prepare a proper breakfast. It’s their first real spat but based on the increasingly upbeat saxophone I think those crazy kids will be ok. 🎷“ She ruins the eggs, she burns the toast black, the juice is just wrong, there’s no going back. Dooo do do dooo I love her anyyyywayyy.”🎹

Oh man - I get that!! Last week there was an 18-wheeler on the road here - it's TWISTY, TURNY, cliff on one side rock wall on the other. Dang truck couldn't go fast (of course) and had to use BOTH lanes to make the twists and turns. Sheesh. At least he stayed ON the road and I wasn't a witness to an unplanned "exit" or a head-on.

Got the stalls cleaned out - let the sheep out since it's not raining at the moment. Heading down the hill later for an early dinner at a friend's. I'm bringing the cheesecake (easy peasy 5 ingredients no crust super yum).
The neighbpr's LGD went on a walk about this morning, but sadly they didn't come to visit. But I had a nice chat with their owner (who has the goats). Her dogs are always welcome here.
More rain on the way - and looks the same for next week as well. FINALLY a normal winter in So Cal. Like all things - it's a cycle and we're back in the groove! Too bad they didn't work on fixing the dams until now, we could've been storing all the rain. Maybe next year.

Coffee is ready. Anybody got breakfast ready? I’m gonna drink my coffee, do chores, then figure out unloading The Texas Five. @Ridgetop , her husband and son met me yesterday at their ranch in Yantis. We unloaded their trailer, then backed up trailer to trailer and their son “walked” them into my trailer and closed the middle gate. They aren’t tame like my sheep are, so I’ve gotta make a chute to get them in a pen. Should be an interesting morning.
