Coffee is ready. Anybody got breakfast ready? I’m gonna drink my coffee, do chores, then figure out unloading The Texas Five. @Ridgetop , her husband and son met me yesterday at their ranch in Yantis. We unloaded their trailer, then backed up trailer to trailer and their son “walked” them into my trailer and closed the middle gate. They aren’t tame like my sheep are, so I’ve gotta make a chute to get them in a pen. Should be an interesting morning.
SOOO EXCITING !!! And wow they got there fast. Tell @Ridgetop she's missing a nasty storm cold, very windy, and very wet. Can hardly wait to see The Texas Five. The sheep I got back in August (not from Ridgetop - I wasn't on BYH then or ???) were not tame either - wild as March hares. They've tamed up nicely and you'd never know they were wild.

On cup 3 <gasp> first was tea so it's not that bad right??? Bad weather day. WIND (17mph 37mph gusts), cold (38-49) and wet (~3/4 inch since last night and counting). Ran over to the barn in full rainsuit in a predicted 10 min gap in the rain. The barn was wet even in the aisle - blow in from the roof eaves o_O glad the new hay is tarped inside. Fed them and hightailed it back to house. Fed the chickens on the way back. Picked up 6 avocados - windfall.
I should either do something useful in the house or something fun and crafty. Or read?!? Hmmm 🤔. Will send out an email cancelling the herding lessons for tomorrow - I know I'll have some "new" ranch jobs.
@Baymule -- looking forward to Tales of The Texas Five!

Moon out bright right now -- just came in from convincing a big old Boer doe to get back in a stall so she could finish her start into labor. She'd been in there pawing. I'd just rebedded two for her and another late this afternoon, both due now to Sat. May have kids tonight, may not. Other a few days behind. Both carrying at least twins, it appears. And brown, brown, brown -- does & buck. First kids for this buck. 🤷 Good I hope.

Rain tomorrow, 4-10am they say. Light, then heavy starts about 7. Ought to be fun feeding. 😔😵‍💫
Of course, I'm in the heavy downpour path :th

Fed during a brief stop in our rain event this morning. 😵‍💫 Really wet out there...more coming. 😟

No new kids but left her in the stall with food & water. With rain they don't venture out far but, she doesn't need any pushing around. Barn of dairy does came out to eat...most kids were inside and I could see the size and body conformation is a huge improvement over pure dairy. Chubby things!! The kind that bring higher bids at sale 😁 as wanted.

Will work today at job. Why not...bad weather.

I slept till 7 this morning! I racked up 9 hours of sleep. That almost never happens. I put coffee on and went outside to do chores. Now I got my first cup of coffee. It rained earlier this morning, I heard it and went back to sleep. I’ve got to do laundry today. I may not get much else done, I’m tired.

On cup 2, It's bitter cold for us - 30 something now, going to maybe 55. Clear skies - what's that blue stuff?? The last storm dumped 3.8 in of glorious wetness. Now I get to clean up. Waiting for it to warm up a little - I'll go out and graze a little outside the pasture. Going either direction will give us either sink in mud (which will dry with hard hole hoof, paw and foot prints) or deep ruts - too fast and oops worst case could be a broken bone. Got some tractoring to do later today. Wrapping hands around the hot cup in anticipation ;)
