Another day -- temps all over. 68 yesterday, 36 now. 😟. Going to 64. To upper 60s again. Coolish but ok. We've been above norm a lot, so a few days about 10 below is doable. Still good weather! Sunny out.

Slept late, up late...so. just finished the needed first cuppa🤣 chores soon. Then? I'd love to set up for seed starts...right after I clean the chicks container. Need a trash run later -- dump opens at 12:30. A toss up of a day, once I see what's going on out there. I see my 5 free roamers in the field next door. Reminds me I should get that fence up!! 🤔🥴 Time, desire, time...do.

Had a quick breakfast sandwich and out the door with ... Zo. We sorted out the "possible problem sheep" -- it took awhile, it's not an easy job and requires Zo-boy to be extra calm and listen, and <cringe> also know when to do things on his own. Dogs are far better at reading sheep than we are. There's the Baa-Raw-Ewe thing going on donja' know. As the sayings go - slow and steady wins the race and fast is slow and slow is fast. My mantra for when I want to speed things up.
While we were out the younger black ewe and Zo had an "encounter" - I'll put that in the journal. It was good.
Now I'm back to the house checking here with a cuppa, probably grab a second and then go out and mess around in the garden. I'm going to try some peonies by one of the patios - I know they do great in the Midwest, but have no idea about here.

This seems to have been a long day. Got some things done and tired. Not enough sleep last night and now I'm really feeling it. Thinking very early to bed 👍. I'm feeling really old today :old😁 moving slow. Yeah needed more bed time! Things on my "today" list got done except seed starts...just couldn't get "into" it. So made no attempt.

Goats are loving this last hay I got -- only a few bales to try -- will go pick up a good amount in morning. I'll need to make myself go to job work this week or -- Or what? yeah, I'll do some jobs.

Thinking I'm gonna have an ice cream drumstick, a shower and off to bed!! Fast to sleep.:D =D:yesss:

Today at 5 PM CST is The Old Ram Australia AKA Frank Egan his show on Facebook
88.9 Braidwood Our Farm

I’ve been muddling around on my phone, laptop is down, and I think I’ve found it. Has anyone tuned in to listen, and how do you do that?

Going for second cup of coffee. Got to leave at 6:30AM to be at feed store an hour away when they open this morning. I’ll get my months supply of feed pellets, BOSS, whole corn, alfalfa hay, going to try alfalfa pellets, going to compare prices on chick starter and meat bird crumble, if they carry it.
I’ll sure be glad to get enough of this place cleaned up and under fence, so I’ll have GRASS for the sheep to graze and get off the feed bill! These high prices are killing me!

Gripe, grumble, complain, b!tch, moan…..

Me too! :barnie :he. And, making me still work, in case. And they're going even higher...unbelievable.

I slept gloriously, for 9 hrs! Wow -- so nice. Took a couple aspirin for the achy that is there from lifting, pulling, tossing things yesterday -- including some goats that didn't want to be wormed, get moved, behave!!. Scrubbed all water tubs, refilled and set up a couple more 40-50 gal ones....heat is coming. Be ready. Rebedded some stalls. Rebedded the chicks quarters upstairs...they're all feathered and no more heat lamps ! Will be outside about 2 weeks out.

Checking in and on everyone while having my coffee. Heading out for fast chores....then work. It will be a busy week.

Feed was up from last month. I bought a bunch. I bought 4 bags of chick starter, for the 50 Cornish Cross chicks I got coming in a few weeks. 5 gallon waterers are now $45. I bought 2, to go in the 2 chicken tractors I haven’t built yet.
