Dogs woke me up at 3. I gave up on going back to sleep, coffee is ready for all those that are still peacefully slumbering. Just stumble on into the kitchen, and pour a cup. I’m guessing dogs were barking at deer.
@canesisters i hope this morning is better than yesterday. I’ll be up on the roof this morning to roll out one more span of radiant heat barrier and 2or 3 more spans of 2x4 lath. Then will be ready for metal tomorrow! I go pick up the metal this afternoon.

Good Morning all!
Sorry @Baymule that Savage woke your dogs up (by throwing a temper because I put him in the kennel while it wasn't quite day break enough for his liking) who in turn woke you up. It's either put him in the kennel outside and let him throw a temper while I get outside stuff done or put him in his crate and let him throw a temper in there while I get outside stuff done.

You need to break Savage of that fit throwing. Never let him out when throwing a fit, that teaches him to throw a fit and his reward is getting out. Only let him out when he is quiet and calm. In the crate, you can beat the crate with a rolled up newspaper while firmly saying HUSH! Once quiet, pet, praise, give him a treat, but leave him in there. If he starts up another fit, repeat. You might need to set aside several days for this.
Same process for the kennel outside. Go inside and leave him in the kennel. When he starts his fit, newspaper beat the kennel, HUSH! When quiet, praise and a treat, go back inside. Rinse repeat. But only let him out when he’s behaving.

Mornin all. Thanks for the coffee Bay. We did get a little more rain yesterday :thumbsup :weee 1/2" total in the morning. It rained some more while brush hoggin and grilling dinner in the evening but didn't look at the gauge after that. More storms this morning but they're not looking like they'll hit us, like predicted yesterday.
I loved the 3 yr old yesterday who likes playing in the rain. He wanted to ride the horse, I was going to tie her up in the ditch. He stayed there happy as could be while I bush hogged and with the rain. Then we grilled in the rain. After being pretty wet he asked me if I wanted to go in the chicken coop to get out of the rain. NOooo we're not playin in chicken sh!t while cooking supper but we can go to the garage.

I managed to sleep all night in a bed. Fen came and woke me with kisses, instead of grumbles, whines or extortion.
I got up and gave him his breakfast and then he went out to finish his morning routine.
When he came back inside, he gave me his deer leg to hold while he chewed it.
I am honored.

Ready for a cuppa

Go inside and leave him in the kennel.
That I do already! It's hard for me not to go back out and get him but I keep my mind occupied with other things until he quiets down but I do look out the window from time to time to make sure he's still in the kennel. When he's standing on one of the dog houses he can put his front paws on top of the kennel. I'm dreading the day he figures out how to get over the top

Alarm blared -- I turned it off and rolled over to go back to sleep! Awoke at just a little after 8 :old loved that I could.☺️ Couldn't sleep well, awake 1-4 😵‍💫 I needed to sleep.

Full pot -- fresh & ready. Have some 👍 I'm enjoying a slow morning, very relaxed. I'll go checking on my goat crew whereabouts shortly. Those results will define the rest of my morning 🤣🤷. And truck repairs on my mind -- need it fixed OR -- the new oil leak has to be discovered to go further 😖🫶😡 scary.

Goat auction tomorrow. Late last week means they're still here 🤬. That means rent or borrow a truck for transport...or another month here. BAD. So that is probably why I was awake half the night!!! Needs resolved.

@CLSranch I'm so glad you got some rain!! 😍 Know you need more but it's a help. Maybe more coming👍

@canesisters glad you have power on today!!

Better refill my cup and ponder on my truck & goats. Way less issues than many! I'm thankful, just annoyed 😂

Thanks for the coffee @Baymule -- though there wasn't much and it was cold ---- BUT cold is GOOD!
Had one of my herding students swing by to show off his dog and Obi working sheep together. His Mom came to watch -- the dogs did great. SO cool to see to unrelated intact males working together. Complete with running into each other and continuing to work as if nothing happened. Testament to good dogs.
I weed whacked along the drive that will be the thoroughfare on Saturday. Then I weed whacked outside the pasture until I ran out of string. When the string runs out or the battery dies it's break time. LOL I'd keep at that until I drop if neither happened. Obi was a double good boy because he did perfect stays while I whacked weeds.

Sunny and HOT, high humidity. Look out see dark, dark cloud -- guessing a "scattered shower" coming I closed vehicles windows, grabbed my milking stuff, heard thunder and hustled to the barn. Just started to milk as rain poured!!!! Couldn't see thru it. Put milkers in stalls with hay when done and waited for a slow up. Ran to house and heard a goat screaming -- leg caught in fence. Oh, no!! Ran to get him, it poured again 😂😱. Got him out, ran to house, totally dripping wet!! Tennis shoes squishing.... :idunno :thwalked wet into AC , felt like freezer. 1" in 1/2 hr....that's hard rain! Sprinkles, then stopped! What an hour.🥴 Why didn't i wait to milk??! :idunno :he:lol:

YES -- I'd like to send some to needy areas. 😝
