BC - before coffee - motion warning at the gate. I go out, guy in a truck is UNCHAINING the gate. I finally get there (700 ft from the house) and ask what are you doing (haven’t blown my gasket yet) he says he has a delivery.
For me??! No. On ____ road. Tell him it doesn’t go through, didn’t you read the sign? No. I read my GPS. There are four signs on the last half mile that say doesn’t go through in several different ways to say it. I read my GPS.
Then it got ugly. I’ve got livestock, they will get out the gate, leave. More ugly Backing up he almost hits Obi - I yell to stop. He doesn’t. I pushed his passenger side mirror in. He stops, gets out, says don’t touch my truck. I say you almost hit my dog, hit my dog and it gets real ugly.
I gather Obi, and close and chain the gate.
😡😡😡😡😡Amazon😡😡😡😡😡
Time for yet another sign - this time on the gate - it won’t be ……

Maybe another GPS is wrong, or Go Away or Don’t Open Gate or ???
Coffee now in my cup.

Fen quietly climbed up on the couch and woke me with sweet kisses on my nose. It was so much nicer than extortion or demands! Big day today. I got one of the rabids bred. I couldn’t help but laugh at watching the buck groan and fall off 😂 He had 3 fall offs then I captured her without too much trouble and put her back in her own cage. I need something larger for her to kindle in, if anyone has suggestions or can share what they use it would be much appreciated!
Chicks should be here today or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow because today would be too easy as the post guy comes every Mon/Wed/Fri unless there’s a holiday.
So I will probably have to drive the 82 miles to the post office tomorrow, which is just a singlewide trailer on the way to Burns,(2 hrs) which is actually the closest town to us but it’s so small there’s nothing there, so we drive the 4 hours to Idaho for groceries and Dr appts etc.
Anywho, working on setting up a brooder for them. Using a 3’ round water tank on back porch next to the rabids. I need to figure out a top for it or Fen will be in there playing with them. 😳
No coffee for me today. Just tons of water as I had to take Adderall again, and with pain killers it doubles down on dehydrating me. 😳
Ten minute break then back at it!

Just wow! You are in nowhere land 😵‍💫 4 hrs drive to a town?? Do you carry a 5 gal can of gas in each vehicle--extra? Is there at least gas or anything in Burns? Is 82 to PO one way? Talk about a need to be self-providing, sounds like you're there. :th

Water/lunch break over. Back to sweating & itchy grass cuttings.

Sipppping iced coffee and "cooling" down. Was at the barn all morning. There FOUR cars that sailed up the hill, made the turn and stopped at my gate. FOUR all before noon!! WTH.
I had a new detection student come to the barn this morning, said that when she plugged in my address it said American Herding Breeds Assoc. AND ..... Animal Shelter. UMMMM NOOOO . So it's Apple that has decided my driveway is their road. GRRRRR
I'm thinking of camouflage painting the road to look like weeds and dirt.
Back to cooling down with my coffee, oh and lunch - that would be good too. :)

No, we fill up everytime we leave town. We have enough in the tank to get home and back to town again. There is no phone service or anything on the road going both to Burns which is West of us, and Idaho which is NE. It’s just a lot of empty land, sage brush, cattle and wild horses.

And yes, that’s one way. The post office is 82 miles away.
We keep 3-6 months worth of raw ingredients in the pantry, I do a lot of canning and we raise all our own meat.

If we go to town it’s 4 hours of this

@peteyfoozer Did the chicks arrive? Hoping they will be DELIVERED Friday. 🥰

Do you still have anything for milk -- goat, cow, or? I mean ain't no stores around! :th there are shelf stable milks... I keep a qt in my cabinets, in case...plus a couple cans. 😁 Usually never need with goats in milk most all year.

I keep a good stash of food....could go months without buying - and do. Just knowing things are that far is a different consideration. Garden, chickens, goats...provide most except staples. Sugar, flour, salt, etc., TP, and such. Then, there's mail order. :D =D :fl

I used to have both Nubian goats and Jersey cows. I made all of our cheese and milk products , but then the RA got really aggressive and I couldn’t use my hands to milk or even carry my belly milker. ( I also had up to 30 leppie calves every year to bottle feed and I would use a couple to relief milk for me.)

It broke my heart to sell my girls So now we have to go to town more often to buy stuff, which is expensive considering the fuel and grocery prices.

The chicks DID arrive!! I was so surprised!
We had a very, very old bag of shavings (half a bag if you want to get technical). I dumped a bunch in with the chicks and there were some kind of grubs in the bedding. Man o man, did those chicks wake up!! They were catching them and fighting over them and having a marvelous time!! I couldn’t believe they were hunting them down at such a young age! It was fun watching the free for all. Fen was fascinated.

I am so happy for your chick delivery 🥰 :celebrate

A friend has RA and some days are fine, then they are very bad -- no warning. Not something visual, like a broken arm. But swelling is visual! She has begun some weekly injection as the pills weren't controlling. Still on steroids. Tired a lot.

Today I must go to work. Yeah, put off as long as I can, without quitting.😁 but got a lot of farm work done!! And work jobs still "within date". I was so tired, so filthy, when I came in yesterday. Got things put away outside, walked in house and directly to the shower....dirt everywhere. Awwwh, that shower felt good!!! Slept like a log.

Didn't plan to get up at 5 but, woke then. I've checked my scheduled work, gotten a fresh pot of coffee made and enjoying a cup now. Chores in a while -- too early now  -- then work. Getting my mind to accept it :old:lol: tomorrow more jobs. Today we have rains rolling in from TN area. :idunno
