Up early this morning. Oatmeal, coffee and out the door with Obi and Ree. Friday morning is agility day. Something fun for the dogs and me (though I am sooo uncoordinated at it  ). DH let the sheep out.
On the way there - about a 45 min drive, I thought of something. Obi moves through the ranch when he's working with ease and a flowing movement. Zo, on the other hand does not. I'm beginning to think the agility stuff that Obi (ok Ree too) has been doing since he was a puppy has given him that grace of movement. In the regular herding world - trials and similar, there would be no advantage - 90% of trial fields and arenas are "groomed".
Ya' know - it's the things that make you go "hmmmm" 🤔

So, time to start doing some agility with Zo??? Might also help with the commands as it will help to make him concentrate more on you?
Yup. That’s my plan. The instructor, who is also a friend, is waiting to get a surgery date (getting to be almost impossible thanks to a broken system). So until that’s behind her she’s holding off adding in new dogs or classes. I’m doing some foundation work with him as homework. As for concentrating on me, I don’t want too much of that as he needs to make decisions on his own out in the field. There are those who believe if they say something the dog better damn well do it. I’m not one of them, listen yes but if I’m wrong I’d rather he cover for my mistake. And I want him reading his sheep on his own. 😊

It's all by the coffee pot so brew a cup or glass if you prefer ICED COFFEE then let's head to @Grandmas Porch to gather around her stove. I'm about to go get my second cup but I'll make sure there's a fresh pot brewing for all who slept in this AM.
@Mini Horses @farmerjan How is the storm going where y'all are at? I don't think it's too bad here just yet but it's just getting day break so it's hard to see anything.

Ahhh...Ophelia! Overcast, sprinkle rain all day Fri, got serious after dark and woke me at 3:30 with raging downpours. It continued until daybreak and now it's off & on bands of lighter stuff. I'd say the heavy part is over. You guys north and west of me will get your rains now. Still moderate, steady winds happening. Every surface out there is wet. No doubt ditches are full -- runoffs will raise the streams/rivers for a while. I've seen a whole lot worse!! But this was a real heavy, buckets of rain event. 😱

Already had breakfast & couple cups of coffee -- but, still sleepy. I feel a nap will happen since I wasn't ready to get up but, couldn't go back to sleep either. 🥴
I have no plans for the day right now. 🤷 in a slump.

My farmer with corn next door scrambled to harvest here and several acres behind me. I saw 4 tractor trailers full being hauled out, may have been more, cut during yesterday's sprinklings. Guessing 50' ers. Wouldn't get in/out of those fields today!

We have been getting sprinkles, light rain since about midnight or so. Woke up once to hearing it... but not real hard. We are only forecast to get an inch or so now... some winds but not bad... might get more later. Rain off and on, mostly on, all day which is okay. We need it here. Some gusty breezes but so far not much. Going to be in the 50's most all day so chilly/cool.

Hope the farmer got the bulk of it all out @Mini Horses so the wind doesn't knock it over and make a mess or lose it. The light sprinkles/rain will also be of benefit as they pack it if it was getting as dry as corn was here... help it to ensile better. Most here are done with the silage chopping since the corn was soooo dry from the lack of rain it just dried out way too fast.

Morning all. Frustrated having labor just very slow lol probably not a bad thing. I am slowly dilating last I was checked I was between a 5-6. I am so tired of being pregnant I am 41 weeks and three days. I am hoping to get this baby out sooner I did the miles circuit last night it suppose to help getting things going we shall see. I have had three other kids go over so not so surprising.
