In my opinion as a combat vet with years under my belt in warfare, they couldn’t secure only 175 yards away, they are in trouble. I know certain people that can easily clear 5 times that on a cold bore shot on their worst days, one of them I see I in the morning all the time.

LOL, you are still in longbow and heavy crossbow range at 175 yards. My personal best when I was doing SCA was 5ft target at ~90yards with a 80lb bow.
