When we had Pyrs we would sometimes have an outbreak of fleas (when we had barn cats) in the summer. The Pyrs and Aussie got shaved short, bathed and flea dipped. When we brought them home from the groomer they would look ashamed and would hide for several days. Just because dogs lick their privates in front of everyone, doesn't mean that they aren't bashful when nekkid. LOL :hide

Hot spots are a real problem. Bubba used to get them and lick all the hair off his paws. Then he would have open wounds on his feet and lower legs. Miserable. Vet gave us some meds and they stopped finally. Now the dogs sometimes get fly bites on their ears and scratch them into open sores. It never ends.

The lady that gave Maisy her haircut said she didn't run across a single flea on her but she takes the pill for flea and tick since she doesn't wear a collar most of the time because of her hair matting.

We brought the big flock of ewes in this morning to take a last look at who is going/staying and pulled quite a few fecals.

I finally thought to upload a picture that Teresa took of Maisy. The other is our so mistreated herding dogs right after getting up. :)

Getting ready to call it a day as tomorrow is market day. We did the fecals (actually Teresa did them) from yesterday and there aren't any cull candidates based on that but there are a couple that are going based on attitude. I keep checking the bred ewes and they are seriously looking like they are ready. Oshi has gotten to be pretty consistent in the way he handles my merging with his girls and doesn't react at all anymore. He loves getting crackers as much as the ewes do and I make a point of messing with him and that seems to be working.

We wound up taking 5 lambs and 5 cull ewes to the market this morning. Two of the ewes was based on their configuration not being up to par with our likes and 3 were based on their lack of shedding hair. We often give them more time to see if their shedding gets better but all of these girls had other things also going on.
